Education system of Pakistan

As a student in Pakistani educational system, I am kind of disappoint as well as very demotivated because of how our educational system is suffering from many problems. Nothing new is happening here, the same system created in 1947 and the same curriculum is being taught till now. Yes, only the shapes of the books and the images on them change. Getting students used to the same routine, chasing after numbers and chasing the first position. If someone wants to do something out of the ordinary, no one will appreciate it, and if someone comes first without learning anything.

He is the king, And one another thing, nobodies knows what he or she wanna do. As I am a student of Environmental Sciences , I Choose this field because I am too close with greenery and I am one of those who really want to conserve Environment but most of my mates who are with me in my department, even don’t know why they are doing bs in environmental sciences. Some of them were forced and some of them were not getting admission in other departments due to low score etc.

The educational system in Pakistan has been plagued by several shortcomings that hinder the overall development of students and the country as a whole.

  1. Lack of Quality Education: The educational system in Pakistan suffers from a lack of quality, with outdated curriculum and teaching methods prevalent in many schools.
  2. Inadequate Infrastructure: Many schools in Pakistan lack basic infrastructure such as proper classrooms, libraries, and sanitation facilities, which negatively impact the learning environment.
  3. Gender Disparity: There is a significant gender disparity in access to education, particularly in rural areas, where cultural norms often prioritize boys’ education over girls’, leading to unequal opportunities.
  4. Teacher Shortage and Training: There is a shortage of qualified teachers in many schools, and those available often lack proper training and resources to effectively educate students.
  5. Limited Vocational Training: The focus on traditional academic subjects neglects vocational training, limiting students’ options and potentially contributing to unemployment issues.
  6. Standardized Testing Pressure: High-stakes standardized testing puts undue pressure on students and promotes rote memorization over critical thinking skills.

Overall, addressing these challenges in Pakistan’s educational system is crucial for ensuring that all students have access to quality education and can reach their full potential.
