Azra Nisar, daughter of Nisa Karim from Danyore, Gilgit, has emerged as a beacon of perseverance and achievement. She completed her primary and middle school education at Diamond Jubilee School, Danyore, and went on to attend Aga Khan Higher Secondary School in Hunza for her SSC and HSSC.

Following her pre-engineering studies in college, Azra pursued a bachelor’s degree in computer science at the University of Central Asia (UCA) in Naryn, Kyrgyzstan. Despite the financial constraints of her average-income family, her academic excellence earned her multiple scholarships, including the Spark of Hope Scholarship and the UCA Merit-Based Scholarship. An avid writer, Azra enjoys composing poetry and short stories. She won first place in a story writing competition organized by the Riyani Foundation in Canada, receiving a 1,000-euro award.

Azra is also deeply committed to volunteer work. For the past seven years, she has been involved with the Organization of Education Change, where she served as Executive Director. Currently, she works with the Bibi Thanur Foundation as an IT Lead. Her passion for sports led her to become the first female player in the UCA Volleyball Challenge Cup in 2019. She was an active member of both the football and volleyball clubs at UCA, participating in numerous tournaments.

In addition to her academic and athletic achievements, Azra successfully managed the UCA TEDx Naryn event as Event Manager, turning it into a notable success. Her commitment to scouting earned her the Best Junior Guide award in the Gilgit region in 2014. She also contributed significantly as a member of the UCA Student Association.

To young minds, Azra offers this advice: view challenges as opportunities rather than obstacles, as they provide enduring lessons.

Azra recently graduated from the University of Central Asia in Naryn, Kyrgyzstan, with two major awards: Outstanding Computer Science Graduate and Innovative Diploma Thesis. She aspires to pursue a master’s degree in Data Science.

Azra dedicates her success to her parents, whose hard work and dedication motivated her to strive for excellence despite life’s challenges and hardships.
